Since leaving Horace Greeley after trying to break down Remley’s wall one day during lunch, I graduated Williston Academy in Easthampton, Mass., in 1959, then Yale in 1963, and after 9 months of infantry training at Fort Dix, N.J., I hit the road, jack, and now, after Tinseltown in the ‘60s, back up to the Berkshires in the ‘70s, the Big Apple in ‘80s, and Fleetwood in the ‘90s, with a few side trips along the way to France, Ireland, Colombia, and Germany, here I am in Falls Church, Va., making regular road trips up to UMass/Amherst where my youngest daughter, Katherine, is a junior, and where my older daughter, Alexis, her husband, and my granddaughter also live. And now, apparently, I’m just a run-on sentence.
