Barbara (Burrows) Raber

Cai and I have retired to Calabash, NC. We’ve had some great trips lately cruising Italy and Greece, then a boat trip from Amsterdam down the Rhine and Danube to Budapest. We’ve recently returned from two weeks in Hawaii. We have six grandkids, the oldest a freshman in high school. We live on a golf course at Brunswick Plantation in Calabash, NC
Married June 17, 1960, 47 years this June.

Congratulations to you all, I can’t be there for the 50th.  I do hope you all have
a wonderful reunion.  Thanks for the memories and best in the future!

Lanni Burrows Stowe, 71, Sarasota, and Moline, Ill., died May 15, 2008.
Lanni was born in Evanston, Ill., and grew up there as well as Chappaqua, N.Y. She was the wife and best friend of David H. Stowe Jr. They married Nov. 29, 1959, in Chappaqua.

She was the loving mother of Priscilla Stowe of Sarasota and David H. Stowe III of Boulder, Colo.; loving grandmother of Hallie, Connor, Lindy, Adam and Abby; sister of Barbara Burrows HG ‘57 of Calabash, N.C.

She loved her home in Moline and was an avid gardener. She loved golfing with friends and family, and walking on the beach.
A private family service is planned.

1997 recap. Married for 37 years on 6/17/97. Enjoys travel, tennis, golf, books, sewing, cooking, and gardening. Travel includes Italy, France, England, Sweden, Aruba, Puerto Rico, Barbados, etc.


1982 recap. Attended Skidmore '57-'59, Berkeley Business School '59-'60 and married Carles in '60. They have 4 children, Chris, Gregory, and twins Katherine & Liz. Barbara currently stays home and Carles is VP at Gerber Systems Technology. Barbara worked as Secretary for the Editor of Ski Magazine ('60-'61), and as Secretary to 12 doctors at Dartmouth Medical School ('61). She has finished an Interior Design course at LaSalle in '76. They have lived in New Hampshire, Michigan and Connecticut. Her interests include raising kids, church work and community projects. They have traveled to France, Aruba, the Bahamas, Mexico, etc. She played on a women’s A team (tennis) in Ann Arbor for 7 yrs, enjoys downhill and cross country skiing, sewing, needle point, reading, gardening, and fixing up houses.
