2007 update. Retired in '04. Seeking balance among travel and leisure,
non-profit activities and part time business ventures. Interests: travel, snow
skiing, SCUBA, running (21 marathons), grand parenting (seven of them ) and
gardening. In November 2006, while gardening out front of our new home, chatted
with a walker. Turned out we had a Chapppaqua connection in Chuck Hutin, also
living in the Dallas area, who subsequently called and reconnected me to Greeley
'57. As a result , am really excited about seeing you all at the reunion. Please
come.

1997 recap. Angell Financial Group grew to become the largest of 300
Northwestern Mutual district offices. In 1984 it became one of the 100 network
offices. Our two daughters are married with three grandchildren. I love the
Lord, my family and my work.
1982 recap. Sophomore year went to New York Military Academy on a
music scholarship. Later decided against a music career and entered Harvard
instead. Graduated in '63 after flunking out once and quitting another time.
During the first time out, worked as a commercial model in N.Y., running into
Bette Piller who had been Miss New York City. Also
put in six months in the Army before returning to school. For my second time
out, went to L.A. to join my parents and worked as a career placement counselor.
Jim Tyler, my first stepfather, had died during my first year at military
school .
My Mom remarried a year and a half later to John Whedon, a TV writer who had to
move to California when the industry shifted to the West Coast. Before leaving
New York, my Mom was a N.Y. commercial model who among other things was the
Clairol Miss Come-Alive-Gray lady. In January of 1961 made it to the Cotton
Bowl in Dallas and watched Tom Gilburg play for Syracuse vs. University of
Texas. Succeeded getting his attention as he left the stadium at the game's end
but he didn't recognize me.
Upon graduation rejoined family in L.A. for two weeks and met Lynn, a
down-the-street neighbor and future bride. Then began a five year advertising
career in N.Y. with Benton & Bowles. While there, played football with Van
Schreiber in Central Park and revisited old times In 1965 married Lynn in
Pacific Palisades. That
week both Susie Holloway and
Brian O'Neill popped up. Honeymooned in Japan,
partly hosted by a Japanese movie actress I had met at a party at
Howie Junker's
pad in the Village.
In 1968, desiring a change of career and location, we began a long and
fulfilling career with Northwestern Mutual Life, winding up in Dallas in 1972.
In 1974 met briefly with Fred Kattau in a recruiting interview. Launched Angell
Financial Group in 1975. Three children: Cindy (1966) and Marty (1967) born in
N.Y. Hospital and Lorri (1975) born in Dallas.
