(Editor's note. The following was received from
Linda on 01/24/07)
I’ve had a wonderful time reading about the lives of all
those kids I knew so well years ago. Sorry to have been so slow with my
entry.
MEMORIES: Third grade at King street with Brian
and Tommy vying for tallest. Fourth grade in the
chicken coop (schools were very inventive at solving crowding back then!)
Lunches at King’s Corner – burger, soda and bag of fritos 35 cents. I can’t
believe how free we were to wander about. Lots of wonderful friends.
SINCE: Married Griff McClellan (HGHS ’55) in 1960 after finishing three years at
Wellesley. Completed my last year at Sarah Lawrence. Had four babies in five
years – three in diapers at one point, so the home front kept me fully
occupied for a long time. Our three daughters and son some are all married
with children. In the summer they take turns at a wonderful old camp in the
Adirondacks that my
grandfather built in 1917, while Griff and I hide out in what used to be the
maid’s cabin. July 4th and Labor Day are open to all and we usually have
seventeen people and seven dogs – chaos! The cousins have all become great
friends which is wonderful.
Griff and I started playing duplicate bridge a couple of years ago. He has
decided that we have to become Life Masters so this is taking up a lot of
time – hopefully our marriage will survive the bridge table!
We certainly hope to attend the reunion – Linda
