Kathryn Kelly in 2002.
Bob was the International Vice President and Creative Director for J. Walter
Thompson, Europe. He was on vacation in Portugal when the agency was sold
and lost the largest account in Europe: Ford. Fortunately, he'd read
Alistair McClean's "A Way to A Dusty Death." Bob thought, "I can write as
badly as that." He wrote and published 8 novels. And two non fiction books,
"How to Fall Out of Love" and "Sexual Confidence," something that he's
always wanted.
He lived in London from 1965 - 1969. He and his first wife, The Feminist
Press co-founder, Karen Turner (HG60), drove back to New York by way of
Greece, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Cambodia, a trip that
took six months. He Lived in London again, with his second wife, Margaret,
'82-'92. He Lived with Pam Page(HG '58) from '92 to '98 in a house in Los
Altos Hills, CA that was the setting for his seventh novel, "Family Values."
Writing occasional pieces for Road & Track has taken him all over England,
Europe, Bahrain, Japan, Australia, Mexico, Fargo North Dakota and
Belleville, Kansas
.
