Susan (Kreisler) Appel (Editor's note. The following was received from Susan in Nov 2006) I retired from the wonderful world of architecture in 2001. I had been Director of Recruitment for Gensler, one of the largest firms in the world. Gap is one of their big clients. I continue to do some recruiting on a free-lance basis from time to time. My husband Herb just sold his Orthodontic practice in Manhattan this year. We are both taking painting lessons at the 92nd Street Y. I am in four book groups. We both do volunteer work for the Glimmerglass Opera Company which is in Cooperstown, New York. We rent a house in Cooperstown in the summer. We both love to travel. This fall we went to see the National Parks in the Southwest. We have had great trips to China, Vietnam, India, France, England, and Scotland. We are retired in New York City which we love. There is so much to do here. We have theater, opera and philharmonic subscriptions and spend lots of afternoons visiting the many museums. We didn’t have any children. We have 6 great nieces and nephews whom we love to visit. 1997 recap. For the past 16 yrs Sue has been in the architecture / interior design business as Human Resources Director. On June 5th she started working for Gensler – one of the largest design firms in the US (over 1000 employees). She does oil painting, spends weekends in Roxbury, Ct, likes gardening, theater, opera, "museuming", and travel (1 or 2 trips per year to Europe). 1982 recap. Sue obtained an AA from Briarcliff College ('59) and a BA in English from U of Michigan ('61). Her career in personnel includes NBC, Janfield Personnel, Cunningham & Walsh (VP Personnel Director), and currently as Associate at Skidmore, Owings, Merrill (an architecture, engineering & interior design company) . She was married in '81 to Herbert, an Orthodontist with offices in Larchmont and NYC. She has lived in NYC since graduation. She studies painting and Herb is an opera buff and a member of the Metropolitan Opera Club. They attend the opera 2-3 times a week and also go to the theater and the museums a fair amount. They hope to buy a house in the Hamptons in the near future as they both spent summer weekends there when they were single and they miss the beach
