(Editor's note. The following was submitted by Tom in Nov 2006)
2006 update: I am blessed with a large, multi-dimensional, happy family. My wife (of 29 years) Gwyn and I have four children: Lisa, Rebecca, Amy, and John, three of whom are married – leaving the youngest (son John) on scene with us in his last year of high school. I have three children from my first marriage: Donna, Nancy, and Stephen – all of whom live in Knoxville, TN as does their mom, Jan. By mid-November we will have eight grandchildren: Avery and Mallory (Donna’s), Jacob and Nathan (Nancy’s), Teddy and Lucy (Lisa’s), Jean and number 8 coming any day now (Rebecca’s) - ranging in age from 0-8.

I remain very actively involved with a long-term project that my Dad and I started together in 1961 when me moved away from Chappaqua. We purchased 45 acres of beautiful farmland which we have used for a private addiction recovery center ever since. The East Ridge Recovery Center has grown (100 acres now) and expanded to include quite a few diverse but related outreach services and supporting businesses.
My day-to-day activities include:

> Director of the East Ridge Recovery Center – a meeting and retreat center which includes long-term residences for 20 families/single residents and rooms for short and long stay guests.

> Director of Curriculum for the East Ridge School – a registered non-public school started in 1973 for the children of East Ridge permanent residents and special need applicants.

> Chairman and General Supervisor of Green Demolitions – a donation program for salvage items such as luxury kitchens, appliances, bathroom fixtures, etc. from homes being renovated or demolished; salvaged items are sold to help fund the non-profit work of the East Ridge Recovery Center.

> Artistic Director of Basket Landing – a folk/bluegrass group whose five members include my half-sister, Joan Stein, two of my children, Amy and John, my son-in-law Nate Zaur, and a young friend, Kevin Anderson.

Both Green Demolitions and Basket Landing are on the web:

I still fish and play the guitar regularly, and see my kids and grandkids as much as possible. I’ve had my share of health problems over the years, and these presently include a coronary insufficiency which keeps me limited travel-wise. I’m hoping to “see” everyone on the website – this is a great way to be back in touch with all of you.
